Well, in simple words, in case, if your reader did not interact with the blog, like sharing or liking it in social media or like discussing about it with friends, then your rate of gaining audience will be in Arithmetic progression .i.e, from a reader you gain too few audience. All you have gained is one internet user! While if the reader interact and shares your post with his friends and relatives then you gain mass reach with public, your audience rate of gain would be high like it multiplying, so it is considered as Geometric progression.

To gain such wildfire effect, you blog post must be wild enough! It must kindle some kind of curiosity with the reader! Well, providing some research data is different from entertaining audience! Not everybody would look for expert level blog! Do you know? Most of them search Internet because they need some data or information in simple words expect for very few! For instance, consider would you love to read Visual C++ book volumes to fix a simple Windows error that prop in your system? Most of us would not! While if some one provide exact and accurate information on how to solve the issue, will you be reading it? Majority would read! No one would take a bar on lease for the pleasure of drink! So to make it effective, reader must understand what you write and must support user interaction for best results.
